Perhaps they are looking to beef up their skills, but you aren’t quite sure where to turn? Check out this list of area cooking classes for kids!
4H – Consider joining your local chapter of 4H to have your child participate in their Cooking program. Locally, check out the following information published by Michigan State University’s Extension program.
Alive – Charlotte – Classes vary season to season. Log on to website to view latest issue of program guide for all youth cooking classes offered.
Bath Farmers’ Market – Classes offered intermittently throughout the year. Log on to website for schedule and be sure to follow them on Facebook.
Le Chat Gourmet – Classes offered in Eaton Rapids. Check website for upcoming classes and summer camps. Classes fill up quickly, don’t wait! Cost information located on website.
Panera’s Bit Kids – Classes offered nationwide. Must be scheduled in groups of 10-15 kids at a time, geared towards ages 5-12. Classes must be scheduled a minimum of three (3) weeks in advance. One chaperone required for every five children registered. Cost is $20/child. Classes are available between 2p-4:30p only. Red Cedar Grill – Restaurant Summer Camp. Classes offered in Williamston. Ages 6-10 July 17-20, ages 11 and up June 26-29 or August 7-10. Camps held 9a-12p. Themes include kitchen basics, cupcake wars, crazy days, and Iron Chef. For more information and to register: firstname.lastname@example.org Registration deadline is June 1.
Sur La Table – Classes offered nationwide. Classes intended for youth plus adult caregiver. Class sizes limited to 16 participants. Classes are between 2 to 2 1/2 hours unless otherwise listed. Log on to website for cost, age restrictions and more information.
Williams-Sonoma Junior Chef Series – Classes offered nationwide. Check website for upcoming classes and be sure to register early as they do fill up! FREE, unless otherwise listed.
Zingerman’s Delicatessen – Classes offered in Ann Arbor. Demonstrations and samples offered. Cost and schedule available on their website.
